Praise the Flowers

The sun is strong, at least for this afternoon. I’ve been standing out in it, enjoying the chill that hangs out just around the corner from wherever it is.

At this particular corner grows a star magnolia, blooming like the full moon. I have things to do, but instead I keep writing her poems.

A worthy thing to do with one’s time: refuse to use it. Instead, praise the flowers.

If you’d like to encourage me directly in writing poems to star magnolias and just about everything else (otters, owl-sounds, the sadness of evening, and the green light at the earliest edge of dawn, for example), you can do that at my new Patreon page.
