In Passing

In Passing, by Lisel Mueller

Reciting Lisel Mueller’s poem today, I thought of these words from Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel: “Just to be is a blessing. Just to live is holy.”

I don’t think anyone needs me to explicate right now how fragile, and how precious, is that simple holiness of being. We’re all feeling it.
